The WORK of Therapy
Therapy is not MAGIC. It is a complicated process that requires commitment and active participation to be effective. Therapy can be uncomfortable and “emotionally draining” when HARD discussions provoke painful memories. However, when an individual does “the work” of therapy by identifying and disrupting destructive thinking patterns, which leads to changes in behavior, real MAGIC happens. This power to become a better version of oneself is the “magic” possessed by us all; the therapist is simply one who assists in “tapping” into that power.
“roots” specializes in “getting to the root ” cause of trauma, depression, anxiety, relational impairment, life transitions, substance use and abuse, etc. and empowering individuals, families and groups to create desired change through evidence based therapeutic modalities and techniques.
FINDING THE RIGHT “FIT”
The relationship between the client and therapist is imperative in effecting change, transformation and progressing towards symptom relief. Please be advised that in the rare case that a client is not a “good fit” for roots LLC and/or requires more in-depth support, a more suitable provider will be recommended.
